Beyoncé was born in 1981 in Houston Texas, to parents of African-American and Creole descent, Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles, respectively.
Beyoncé’s solo career began in 2002 upon co-starring in the movie Austin Powers in Goldmember. For the film’s soundtrack, she recorded and released her first solo single, Work It Out. In 2003, she also co-starred along with actor Cuba Gooding Jr. in The Fighting Temptations, a dramatic comedy.
On June 22, 2003, Beyoncé’s released her first solo studio album titled Dangerously In Love . The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales exceeding 300,000 copies.
While her record label did not predict any potential hits from the project, they were proved wrong by the critical and commerical success of Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, Me, Myself and I, and Naughty Girl. “Crazy In Love” and “Baby Boy” reached the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 while “Me, Myself and I” and “Naughty Girl” peaked at numbers four and three, respectively.
Subsequently, Beyoncé won several awards at the 46th Grammy Awards including Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Dangerously in Love 2”, Best R&B Song, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
Emilia Clarke (born 23 October 1986) is an English actress. She studied at the Drama Centre London, appearing in a number of stage productions, including one by the Company of Angels. Her television debut came with a guest appearance in an episode of the British medical soap opera Doctors in 2009. The following year, she was named as one of the “UK Stars of Tomorrow” by Screen International magazine for her role in the Syfy film Triassic Attack .
She made her Broadway debut as Holly Golightly in a production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 2013 in addition to a West End production of The Seagull in 2020. Her film roles include Sarah Connor in the science fiction film Terminator Genisys and Qi’ra in the Star Wars film Solo: A Star Wars Story. She has also starred in the romantic films Me Before You and Last Christmas . In 2018, she was honoured by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts with the British Artist of the Year award. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019.
