The daughter of director Howard Deutch and actress-director Lea Thompson, Deutch began her acting career with a recurring roles on the Disney Channel original series The Suite Life on Deck and CW crime drama series Ringer . Following her credited film debut in the gothic romance film Beautiful Creatures, she starred in the fantasy horror film Vampire Academy , for which she received a Teen Choice Award nomination.
